Modern Slavery Statement

MODERN SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT

At Gaze Burvill, our guiding principle is to ensure our business acts as a true “Force for Good.” We believe that crafting furniture built to last decades must be rooted in a deep respect not only for the natural environment and our materials, but fundamentally for the people who help bring our designs to life.

We are committed to driving out acts of modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and from within our supply chains, including all sub-contractors and partners. The Company upholds the spirit and intentions of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Gaze Burvill is a British designer and manufacturer of fine outdoor furniture and outdoor kitchens, operating from our workshops in Hampshire. We ensure transparency within the Company, our suppliers of goods, and the larger supply chain and services to the Company through robust, practical steps.

Due Diligence, Policies, and Risk Assessment

Our internal operations and external partnerships are governed by our core company values: Diversity, Kindness, Community, and Commitment. To mitigate the risk of modern slavery, we implement the following procedures:

Right to Work Checks:
We actively assess and reduce the risk in our business of modern slavery practices occurring by checking the authenticity of papers proving a right to work in the UK for all Companions.

Robust Procurement Policies:
We ensure our supply chain is scrutinised for compliance. The consequences of non-compliance are clear and actioned: commercial relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other business partners will not be entered into—and existing relationships will be terminated—if they fail to uphold our standards.

Whistleblowing Protection:
We protect Companions who are ‘whistleblowers’ in respect of any concerns they have about modern slavery, ensuring they can speak up safely.

Training and Awareness

From day one of our “1st Impressions” onboarding process, we set clear expectations for our culture. We provide information to our Companions on the warning signs that might indicate that modern slavery is taking place. Furthermore, we actively promote to all Companions the critical importance of raising any concerns they may have immediately.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Gaze Burvill’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the current financial year.
