WE’RE A B CORP!

We are very proud to announce that Gaze Burvill is now a certified B Corp, joining a global movement of like-minded businesses pushing for change. We have been rigorously assessed to ensure that we make it our priority to look after our people, our community and the environment.

B-corp certification is a huge milestone and is both a confirmation of our commitment to sustainability since our founding in 1993, as well as giving us much to work towards in the future and inspiring us to use our business as a force for good.

WHAT IS A B CORP?

B Corp is a movement of over 8,200 businesses across the world, with an aim of meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

In order to obtain certification, the company must satisfy a number of criteria, which entails conducting a thorough evaluation of its effects on all stakeholders and undergoing verification of this assessment by B Lab.

The B stands for “Benefit for all” meaning we aim to benefit all stakeholders within our company from Customers to our Team.

Our Impact Score

The Journey to become a B Corp is not an easy process – And for a good reason! Becoming a B Corp is assessed in five key impact areas across a business including Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. A minimum of 80 points are required to become a B Corp and we have received 91 points, a score we are very proud of.

Why is it important to us?

Every member of our team has played an integral role in enabling us to become a B Corp, from minimising waste to making responsible purchasing decisions.

Becoming a B Corp reflects a number of our achievements including our work with Charities Woodland Heritage and Horatio’s Garden along with our ongoing improvements to minimising our environmental impact through the use of renewable energy and locally sourced wood along with supporting our team.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Although we’re extremely pleased with the progress we’ve made so far, becoming a B Corp doesn’t mean the work stops there. Our certification must be reassessed every three years, so we will continue making positive changes, whether this be through our operations or through our wider community including our work with Woodland Heritage.
