How long have you been with Gaze Burvill?

I have been at Gaze Burvill for 12 years – making this job my longest job!

Tell us about what you do?

I work in the machine shop. My main role is making sure that my team is happy and have all the information they need to make sure the quality standards are met.

My team and I are involved with the first stage of the manufacturing process. We make all the components that go to other areas like the CNC or Assembly. I also help the steam bending department which is responsible for all the bent components which make our outdoor furniture so unique.

What do you love most about your role?

What I love most about my job is doing for a living what I used to do as a hobby. The challenge of making bespoke outdoor furniture pieces of furniture using some of the best tooling around with some of the best people I have ever worked with.

What is the most challenging part about your job?

The most challenging part of my job, especially my new job role, is learning a whole new set of skills in the more admin/HR side of the business as I have always been a more hands on person – this has been a welcome change!

What are you most proud of?

My children by far the best things I have ever made.

What is something on your bucket list?

To have my own workshop at home.
