All our equipment is outdoor rated and will withstand the elements throughout the year, however they will require a small amount of maintenance to keep everything in good working condition.   By following these measures carefully you will enhance the pleasure of owning your A la Carte Outdoor Kitchen as well as extending its longevity.

Towards the end of the season there are a few steps you will need to take to prepare your kitchen for the winter months, these steps will ensure longevity of your A La Carte Kitchen.

 

 

REFRIGERATION

 

Your fridge should be switched off, emptied and cleaned with an antibacterial cleaner and dried thoroughly before the outside temperature drops below the cooling temperature.

GRILL

 

There is no specific requirement to winterise your cooking appliances, however we do recommend a thorough clean before covering during the winter, including the emptying and cleaning of the grill drip tray and shutting off the gas valves if they are not being used. Cleaning materials can be purchased from the Sub-Zero & Wolf website.

 

WATER SYSTEM

 

Your stainless steel sink should be thoroughly cleaned with a standard stainless steel cleaner. Place the oak cover provided over your sink to keep any unwanted muck from collecting in it and leave the plug/drainage holes open but with the collector basket in place so that any water that gets in drains away but if leaves, etc. do get in they are prevented from blocking the drain.

To protect the tap and pipework from bursting, all water will need to be drained from the mains supply before the temperature drops below freezing. The shut off valves should be closed and the hot and cold tap levers should be fully open. The tap aerator should be removed and stored. This is what creates a non splashing stream of water and can be found at the tip of your faucet, it can be unscrewed and removed by hand.

The water heater should be drained (if fitted).

CUPBOARDS

 

All A La Carte kitchen units are lined with special weather resistant composite panels, we recommend these be thoroughly cleaned before winter sets in. They are wipe clean surfaces, standard non-abrasive kitchen cleaning products can be used to maintain them.

To prevent the onset of mildew/mould during the damp winter months we recommend that all the kitchen units are treated with an antibacterial spray after cleaning and at the beginning of the winter.
