Working within a growing Sitting Firm production team you will be responsible for overseeing the finishes applied to our Windsor Chairs and stools – oiling, waxing, and filling. Alongside this you will lead on quality control, picking and packing to ensure we maintain our standard of exceptionally crafted pieces.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
Oiling & finishing of hardwood furniture
Waxing & filling of natural defects within timber
Quality control – checking all products are up to standard before delivery
Preparing, packing and clearly labelling furniture
Other work where required in busy periods may include:
Assembly of furniture
Sanding and finishing furniture
Maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy workshop
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in furniture making and finishing is not necessary but would be beneficial, however training will be provided for the role.
Some knowledge and understanding of the application of finishes including hand and spray finishing would be useful but not essential.
Work accurately and consistently with an eye for detail and quality.
Organised, pro-active and flexible individual.
Experience in furniture making useful, but not essential.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm. Salary: Up to £23,000.00 per year (dependant on experience).
