Job Role

As part of the Aftercare team, you will travel across the South of the country to some beautiful locations including private gardens and RHS gardens. You will assist in creating lasting customers through the aftercare, maintenance and reconditioning of their furniture and enjoy a varied role in which will be split between two fundamental areas of Aftercare depending on the needs of the business. Your time will be divided between a workshop environment with a focus on restoration and on site in various gardens where you will need to plan and execute each job within a targeted time frame.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assessment of furniture with ability to spot problems and come up with solutions.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out efficiently and in accordance with the laid down procedures to ensure that the customer is content with the result.
  • Providing an on-site and workshop based aftercare service with frequent travel (2 days a week on average) and the possibility of overnight stays.
  • Perform a number of aftercare operations including power steam cleaning, sanding, re-oiling, repairs, and outdoor kitchen installations.
  • Operate specialist equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is kept in good working condition.
  • Assist in ensuring all equipment and vehicles are maintained.
  • Have an awareness of the commercial aspects of the service provided.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service to new and long standing clients alike.
  • Will be required to unload equipment from vehicle to site and manoeuvre heavy furniture.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in furniture making and finishing is not necessary but would be beneficial, however training will be provided for the role.
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work on their own initiative and work independently.
  • Collaborate well with others.
  • Impeccable timekeeping.
  • Demonstrable woodworking tool experience and/or demonstrable creative experience.
  • Some experience in customer service.
  • Shares our concern for the environment and reducing our impact on it.
  • Full Clean UK driving licence.
